Leslie A. Martin wrote The Sleigh Bell Letters based on actual letters from Santa that her son received growing up.  Starting at age 6, Leslie’s son wrote to Santa each year, asking for a different reindeer’s sleigh bell.  What he received each year in return was not only a sleigh bell but a long letter from Santa, who shared the story of how that particular reindeer joined Santa’s team.

Over the years, Leslie realized that many of her son’s friends were   fascinated  when he shared the story of each reindeer.  Leslie also began to realize that her friends were fascinated by the idea of Santa explaining how each reindeer came to join his team and the life message imparted through each reindeer’s sleigh bell.  Feeling the whole world should know the story of these eight incredible reindeer, Leslie has now taken those long letters from Santa and transformed them into The Sleigh Bell Letters — The Untold Stories of Santa’s Reindeer, a series of eight children’s picture books.

Leslie is the founder and President of Martianface Productions, LLC, the company that brings The Sleigh Bell Letters to life.  She focuses not only on the creative side of the business but, as a former lawyer, manages the not so creative side as well.  She lives in New Jersey with her two sons, two dogs, six birds, and a ground hog that just won’t move out of her garden no matter how many times she asks.

Contributing to the Sleigh Bell Letters in addition to the Author are Larry Martin and Steve DeBeus. Steve has created all of the wonderful illustrations. Starting with simple sketches, then refining, and finally hand coloring Steve’s illustrations bring The Sleigh Bell Letters to life. Especially for children. Larry is part of the team and helps with marketing, promotion, and business matters.
